Have a Drink on a Sandwich

I'm fully aware that plastic canvas is considered a dead crafting form. I beg to differ. This stuff is versatile and if you're creative enough, you can create pretty neat stuff.

Again, from Pinterest I found the cute sandwich coasters which is really different from the generic coasters we've seen. Of course, coasters are no strangers in the plastic canvas world. I decided I wanted to try and replicate the sandwich coasters with using the almighty plastic canvas.

Doesn't it looks delish?

There was no pattern, just basically me, the plastic, and some random creativity. Ha.  It's currently not available in my Etsy shop, but I still have it. If you're interested, don't hesitate and send me a message!

Red Flower of Wisdom

Be warned - this is a non-plastic canvas project, but it does involve "plastic" stuff.

I finally completed another project that had been collecting dust in the corner. This project was inspired from a pin on Pinterest - that website is becoming an obsession of mine lately. In the pin, a mirror or a clock was placed in the middle, but once again, I wanted to be a little outside of the box, or spoons in this case. I put in an inspirational quote instead. 

You see, I'm going through a some changes in my life, so what's better than an inspirational quote to keep my focused on the goal at hand? You can say it, I'm genius. *takes a bow*

Got a piece of cardboard I pulled out from my garage because I'm such a scrap hoader. Hey, it came in handy! The cardboard is about 24 inches wide - I'm all about go big or go home.

I started this project because I found a couple bags of about 100 spoons for a buck each or something like that. So, I hauled my loot home and got to work... It took a whole lotta spoons, let me tell ya, and I ended up going to the store to get more. It was something like 350+ spoons.

Debated on the color for a while and decided on red for that pop of color. Then I let it sit in a corner for, oh, about six months. I wanted to print out my quote in a some elegant font, but I ran out of ink so finally, I gave up and just wrote down my quote. To make my life easier and since the "flower" was pretty lightweight, I just nailed through the cardboard in two different places and glued my quote in the center. Voila! 

"Don't be afraid to fail, be afraid not to try."

 The flower is on the wall at the top of my stairs so when you walk in and look up, you'll see the flower, not so much the quote, but who cares.

Not bad for my first shot at the project, although I can think of several ways to do this better. There's always another time. Overall, it was a fun project.

Okay, it's official that I suck at blogging. I actually got an awesome message through Etsy from an admirer complimenting my products - squee! Thanks, Margaret! 

That I reminded me that I still had this blog. So here I am :-D Life has been busy for me in my little corner of the world, but I am still making stuff because it's just fun and relaxing for me to do. 

I completed my latest project (apart from many non-Plasticified projects...) - a couple Rubik theme cubes to hang on rearview mirror in the car. I changed up the color because I like to go against the flow sometimes. I did  this project years ago for my mother who wanted a cube to represent the American flag and the other of her home country of Panama.

Here's a photo I took when 35mm camera were still a hot commodity. *sigh* Those were the good days.

Anyhoo, I decided why not bring this idea back but using Rubik. Here it is:

Turned out way cuter than I thought it would be! I'm also working on a flag one, similar to my mom's.
